The Role of the Technician\u2026<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
Main job function: To carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on commercial vehicles in a timely, safe, cost-effective efficient manner whilst ensuring 100% compliance with health and safety practices and procedures.<\/p>\n
Duties include:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all work allocated is completed within specified repair times<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure 100% accurate clocking on allocated jobs<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all repairs are carried out in accordance with customer\/workshop control requirements<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all repairs are carried out in the most economical manner in the best interest of the customer<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all serviceable or items requiring repair are recorded on inspection sheet\/TruckFile<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all work is carried out to the highest possible standard<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure no vehicle come backs due to poor workmanship\/diagnosis<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all health and safety processes, protocols & procedures are strictly adhered to at all times<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all service sheets\/TruckFile are completed in full and correctly signed<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all inspection sheets\/TruckFile are completed and correctly signed<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all items repaired are recorded and signed as rectified<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure any items not repaired are reported to workshop control \/ customer.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure a brake test is carried out on every inspection.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure no vehicle is released with PG9 defects outstanding unless a disclaimer is signed.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all oils & consumables booked to job<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all job card write-ups are legible, accurate, factual and justify the time taken on the job<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure 100% first time MOT pass rate.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Attend training courses as and when required\/requested<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure correct and proper use of company tools<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Report any damaged or missing tools to Manager<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Maximise use of diagnostic equipment, minimising customer downtime<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Have the ability to fault find and problem solve<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Actively promote any improvement in working practices<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Aspire to hold a LGV licence<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Have a basic working knowledge of manufacturer\u2019s warranty and repair and maintenance procedures and processes<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all warranty and repair and maintenance parts are correctly labeled and placed in correct location<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Pro-actively liaise with workshop control on a regular basis regarding customer anticipated completion times<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Improve workshop efficiency by sharing experiences<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Have a high standard of care with respect to company vehicles<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all customers vehicles kept in pristine clean condition ensuring use of cab protection equipment<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Be available for breakdown rota<\/p>\n
Skills and Qualifications\u2026.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
Suitable candidates should have the following skill set:<\/i><\/p>\n
\u00b7 Fully trained Mercedes Truck\/HGV Technician will be considered only<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Successful applicants must be Trade qualified with 3-5 years post qualification experience<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Must be committed to upskilling via ongoing training in any area required<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service by providing a courteous and helpful service to new and returning customers<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Maintain and follow best practice processes and procedures<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Ensure workspace is kept clean and tidy with particular attention to H&S issues<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all required personal protection equipment is worn at all times report any defects, deficiencies to leadership immediately<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all waste is disposed of in the correct manner ensuring 100% compliance with company processes and procedures<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to relocating to the United Kingdom on a long-term basis<\/p>\n
Remuneration Package\u2026\u2026..<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00b7 Hourly Rate – \u00a313-14.50 per hour dependent on the experience level of the Technician.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Shift Allowance \u2013 If a technician agrees to rotate across the late and night shifts, they will also receive an additional payment of \u00a325 per day<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Overtime \u2013 paid at 1.4x usual hourly rate<\/p>\n
