GlobalForce Resource Ltd. is working in partnership with a leading Mercedes Dealership in Australia to recruit Mercedes HGV/TRUCK Mechanics.

 

The company is a leading dealership specialising in heavy-duty commercial vehicles. They are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join their dynamic team.

The Successful applicants will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy diesel vehicles, including trucks and buses.

The Role of the Technician…

 

  • Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections on heavy diesel vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on various components and systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
  • Utilise diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, in adherence to manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts and components using appropriate tools and equipment.6. Maintain accurate records of performed repairs, parts used, and labour hours for billing and warranty purposes.
  • Collaborate with the service advisors and customers to communicate repair recommendations, provide cost estimates, and explain complex technical issues in a clear and professional manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technical advancements, and manufacturer’s guidelines through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and ensure compliance with environmental regulations in the handling of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

 

Skills and Qualifications….

 

Suitable candidates should have the following skill set:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Trade Qualified – Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Equivalent qualification with 3-5 years post qualification experience
  • Must be committed to upskilling via ongoing training in any area required.
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a dealership environment.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy diesel vehicles, their systems, and components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, such as scanners and computerised testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and technical manuals accurately. Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
