VOLVO/SCANIA/RENAULT HGV/TRUCK MECHANIC ROLE – RELOCATION TO THE UNITED KINGDOM

GlobalForce Resource are working in partnership with leading Volvo dealerships in the United Kingdom to recruit qualified and experienced HGV Mechanics with retail dealership experience.

Candidate Profile……

· Ideally suited to a candidate with European brand experience gained from a retail dealership. Excellent fleet mechanics will be considered.

  • Experience in brand specific diagnostic software
  • Volvo Group dealership experience, preferred but not essential

· Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicle/Auto Mechanics or equivalent

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work pro-actively in a fast-paced environment

· Highly organised

· Ability to provide the best possible service through a professional image and a “customer first” ethic

· Adhere to all Health and Safety standards

· Embrace training and professional development opportunities for continuing improvement

· Have a positive attitude and will be a self-motivated team player

· A good knowledge of all vehicles makes and an understanding of electronics and diagnostics

· To be an efficient, neat and disciplined commercial vehicle technician

· Flexibility, being able to prioritise your own workload whilst supporting the team

· To be responsive and willing to learn, receive training, developing both yourself and those around you.

· Excellent relationship skills with both colleagues and customers alike, while understanding the importance of delivering a great service to suppliers, colleagues and customers

· The ability and motivation to work on your own initiative

Position Details:

· Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner.

· Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools where appropriate.

· Assist in the fault diagnosis process.

· Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion of a repair.

· Assist with Action Service Europe when required.

· Work with the parts team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted to the vehicles.

· Road test vehicle when required (if holder of HGV licence).

· Assist with roadside breakdowns.

· Ensure that the company time recording procedures are complied with and that job cards are completed accurately

· Ensure that service sheets are completed as per Volvo instructions.

· Ensure that all vehicle defects are reported to your workshop controller

General:

· Ensure that the workshop facilities, equipment and tools are kept clean, tidy and maintained, reflecting the Volvo Truck and Bus Centre image of an efficient and modern retail Dealer point.

· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.

· Support the development of any young trainees and apprentices.
